Background On Me
I began my journey into wildlife photography back in December 2020. I had torn the meniscus in my left leg, and had repairs done to knee cartilage that left me unable to do much, paired with the COVID-19 lockdowns. I always had an interest in birds prior to this though. My parents always fed birds, and taught me the important and beauty of wild animals. My family are avid bird watchers and I remember a trip we took when I was in high school to the Lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas to visit some of the World Birding Centers and see some of those South Texas specialty birds. I can fondly remember seeing for the first time amazingly colorful birds such as Vermillion Flycatchers, Green Jays, Blue Grosbeak.
Fast forward a few years later, while nearing the end of college in 2020, I decided for purchase a starter camera and lens kit to begin photographing some of the birds in my backyard to help pass the time being stuck inside with my recovery and the lockdowns. From then on, I was hooked
I am so thankful to have learned from some of the great avian/wildlife photographers in the U.S. and I continue to apply my knowledge and expertise, while always trying to become better and hone my skills year after year. I am so fortunate, and truly blessed to have this wonderful, therapeutic hobby in my life, and I am passionate on always trying to learn more about our beautiful planet.
What I do
I specialize in capturing the beauty and intricacy of wildlife, with a particular focus on bird photography. Through my presentations and lectures, I share my techniques and experiences, helping others deepen their understanding of both photography and the natural world. My goal is to inspire a greater appreciation for wildlife through the lens of my camera.
Throughout the year, I am offering tours for both bird photographers and bird watchers in the birding-rich regions of South Texas and the stunning Texas Hill Country. These hands-on experiences provide expert guidance in some of the most biodiverse and scenic areas of the state.
Please click the photo tours tab at the top right of this page for more information. If you have any questions please feel free to use the contact form, also located on the top right, and I will be happy to respond to your inquiry within 2-5 business days.
